Ian McKenna
After originally completing a tattoo apprenticeship under Sean in 2008, Ian went on to pursue a career as a multi medium artist. He is a sponsored artist with his artwork featured in magazines. Specializing in airbrush and custom paint work, his creative drive also includes exploring painting, digital art, sculpting, wood burning, bone carving and studying all things related to fine arts. His airbrush work has led him to into painting motorcycles, helmets, hard hats, instruments, computer towers, goalie masks, murals, vehicles, and even prosthetics. After a decade of airbrush work, in 2022 Ian decided to return to tattooing here at Vancouver Island Tattoos to pursue applying all the artistic knowledge he has gained over the years. He loves to produce high quality art and original concepts, his passion for art ranges from everything wildlife to skulls and dark arts. While grey scale is his go to, he is excited to start working on full colour and micro realism tattoos.
Ian is currently working out of Vancouver Island Tattoos offering services in custom paint, tattooing, digital art and rebranding, fine arts, and several gifting services such as pet portraits, miniature artwork, wood burning and more!
